An Invitation to All Mantuans

Fairfax County sent this invitation to Neighborhood Watch chair Norm Neiss, who extends it to Mantua citizens:

Join us for the Tuesday, Sept. 7, meeting of the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC). The CAC meets to bring together people who have an interest in the Mason District (because they work or live here) and the police commanders — working toward the interest of having the best community for all of us. The meeting will be held in the Mason Community Room in the Mason Governmental Center, 6507 Columbia Pike, Annandale, at 7:30 p.m.

Lucy Caldwell from the Department's Office of Public Information (PIO) will be the featured speaker to share details of the PIO efforts to better communicate with residents across Fairfax County. She'll talk about how the Department is changing with the times-- from Facebook, YouTube, micro-sites and interactive public forums…to keep everyone informed. As you may be aware, Lucy has a great experience with police matters. Before joining Fairfax County in 2007 she was a spokesperson for the Virginia State Police for 14 years where she helped manage major media response to situations such as the 9-11 terrorist attack on the Pentagon and the Beltway Sniper attacks of 2002. In addition to sharing her experience, she'll seek your opinions and welcome suggestions.
