| Mantua Van Pool
The Mantua community is served by a 14-passenger luxury van providing
commuter-friendly, van pool service to the District of Columbia Monday through
Friday. The morning service starts at approximately 7 a.m. and arrives downtown
at 7:50 a.m. The evening service beings at approximately 5:35 p.m. and arrives
back in Mantua at about 6:30 p.m. The van pool replaces the former MCA-sponsored
commuter bus which provided 27 years of safe, dependable service to the Greater
Mantua Community.
While most good
things generally come to an end, the great experiences and neighborhood friendships
that developed from the operation of the MCA commuter bus led to the creation
of a smaller, more cost-effective and highly dependable commuter van pool
that is now operated by residents and former bus riders of Mantua, Barkley,
Winterset and Camelot. Daily riders can usually be accommodated on a short
term-basis when regular van pool members are on travel or vacation. Ridership
